Crossroads Automated Touchless Carwash opened in January of 2004 as the only three bay touchless inbay automatic facility in the state. We were received with great fanfare and attracted customers well outside the immediate area. Our customers drove by several carwashes just to wash with us. Many of our customers were impressed by the technology, open bright bays and most importantly the quality of the wash. They were confident that the touchless technology would not damage their vehicles. Since our grand opening we have added full service detailing April - Novemeber. Today we remain the only three bay facilities in Fairfield County. We strive to keep the wash well maintained, clean and safe. We are focused on staying up to date with available advancements in wash technology, both in the equipment and wash chemicals. Our future improvements include removing the treadle plates off the floor in order to make it easier for our customers to drive into the bays and position the vehicle under the machine. This will speed up the process of washing and eliminate human errors. It will also allow extra wide tires and lowered suspension vehicle to wash. We also have our eye on new technology which will eliminate the need for cash or swiped credit cards. The system works similar to the Easy Pass technology. This will greatly add convenience and speed up the wash line.
WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF TOUCHLESS WASHING?
Touchless washing technology provides the safest washing method for today’s clear coat paint finishes. It is even safer and more efficient in many ways than washing by hand. Auto manufactures are using painting techniques that are far more inferior then just ten years ago, leaving thinner and softer layers of finish. This creates a finish more susceptible to chipping and scratching. Friction cleaning, as in used in hand washing and soft cloth tunnel wash facilities, can transfer sand/grit onto your vehicle leaving fine scratches in your vehicles finish not to mention damaging side mirrors or antennas.
HOW DOES TOCHLESS TECHNOLOGY WORK
Touchless technology relies on hot water and specially formulated chemicals to break the static bond between the dirt particles and the finish. The friction for washing is created by high-pressure water, which safely removes the dirt without scratching the finish. There is no need to worry about the previous vehicle covered in salt, sand or mud to transfer abrasives onto your car, because there are no cloths, which tend to hold onto particles. All of our water (fresh) is softened and then treated (RO) to make perfectly clean and balanced (spot free) before being applied to your car.
